Two brothers, a sandbox AND I actually had my camera with me. All the planets were aligned and I captured these moments:
Then I had to strip them down, hose them off while they ran through the yard screaming, “Mommy! You’re freezing our butts.” I’m still waiting to see if calls were made by my neighbors to child protective services.
Even after baths, there is sand coming out of places I don’t want to even think about and half the sand is out of the box and all over the patio…
But getting messy is fun. Getting messy is fun. Getting messy is fun. I have to keep repeating that to my “I’m-a-bad-m0m-if-the-house-is-messy” self. I’m getting better. These photos are proof…
OK, I have to go sweep up the sand, strain all the leaves out of it and put it back in the sandbox. Rome wasn’t built in a day, people.
No Comments “Pure (old-school) joy…”
it is amazing they consented to both play in there! totally worth the secret sand you will find in the bedsheets. ; )
You’re right. Funny side note: when I pulled off Nate’s underwear, there was sand in it. He saw it and was shocked: “Mommy, did I poop out sand?”.
Great photos of the boys. Amazing how two brother can get dirty so quickly (my boys do it too).
Have to admit, the first thing I thought was you HAD to hose them off after this. My son laughed the other day when I removed sand from his pull-up. He was amazed with what he had done. *sigh* boys!
These are the greatest photos… they look so happy. You are right, getting messy is fun and who cares if the house is a mess because if your kids are happy, you are the best mom in the world – and I believe you ARE the best mom!!
Believe me, there is NO reason for your neighbor to call anyone on YOU for anything!! TeeHee
loved these pics.. reminds me of Kindergarten when I missed the pledge of allegiance because I was so focused on what I was creating in the sandbox. Teacher Mrs. Bell punished me by forcing me to play in the sandbox all day.. It was awesome 🙂
